Names of 23 corporate trustees released

 

The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has released the list of 23 corporate trustees proposed to manage the second-tier pension of public sector workers.

They are Petra Trust Company Limited, Metropolitan Pensions Trust Ghana Limited, Enterprise Trustees Limited, Negotiated Benefits Trust Company Limited, Providence Life Trust Company Limited, Axis Pension Trust Limited, Stallion Trust and Administration Limited and Secure Pensions Trust Limited.

Others are General Trust Company Limited, Universal Pensions Master Trust Company Limited, Glico Pensions Trustee Company Limited, United Pension Trustees Limited, Pensions Alliance Trust Company Limited, Hedge Pension Trust, NTHC Trustees Limited, Cidan Trustees Limited, Pentrust Limited and Capel Pension Trustees Limited.

The rest are Broadview Trust Limited, Kimpton Trust Limited, Daakye Pension Trust Limited, Legacy Pension Trust Limited and Bridgewater Pensions Trust Limited.

In a press release issued by a forum of public sector registered pension schemes in Ho, the Forum rejected the selection of one particular trustee to manage the second tier for all public sector workers, indicating that the government should allow the second-tier pension scheme to become fully operational in accordance with the Pensions Act 2008 (Act 766).

The forum directed that money so far accrued to the pension scheme should be transferred immediately to the custodian accounts of the various registered public sector pension schemes.

The release was jointly signed by the Regional Secretary of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC), Mr Elvis Van Lare; Regional Chairman of Ghana the National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mr Godwin M.K Sadzi; the Regional Chairmen of National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Mr Felix Tordey Tse and the Coalation of Concerned Teachers (CCT), Mr Solomon Takyi.

The rest are the Regional Secretary of the Civil Service and Local Government Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), Mr Victor Xornam Kportoe; Regional Officer, Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of TUC, Mr Martin Goodnews Aforve; Regional Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses Association (GRNA), Mr Paul Kokuma, and the Regional Chairperson of the Health Services Workers Union of TUC, Ms Celestine Kodzi.
